The early history of Wheat Ridge goes back to being a rest stop for miners heading to the mountains with the gold rush in 1859. Wheat Ridge got it’s name for the golden ridges of wheat noted by the travelers passing along the Overland trail. Located just west of Denver, Wheat Ridge is home to a number of Medical and Recreational marijuana dispensaries.
